Our Curriculum

Early Years Learning Framework

Fingerprints Early Learning follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), a play-based childcare curriculum established by the Australian Government to ensure quality standards across early childhood education nationwide.

The EYLF fosters learning goals and milestones through play, focusing on emotional, social, and communication development, including language, numeracy, and literacy. The framework envisions all children engaging in play-based learning to build a foundation for lifelong success.

It embraces the themes of Belonging, Being, and Becoming. Belonging reflects the importance of connections with family, community, and culture. Being celebrates the present, encouraging children to explore, play, and enjoy each moment. Becoming supports growth, as children begin to shape their identities and develop skills that guide them into adulthood.

Being

Our enriching environments invite children to explore the world through meaningful, diverse experiences. We empower each child to understand their surroundings, express their perspectives, and shape their identity. By fostering connections with others, we encourage children to embrace their true selves.

Belonging

Belonging is about understanding each child’s sociocultural background and embracing the diversity of families, communities, and cultures both locally and globally. We foster trusting relationships that encourage children to explore their connections with others and recognize their place within a larger, interdependent world.

Becoming

Our close-knit community and strong partnerships with families help us understand each child’s evolving identity, knowledge, skills, and relationships. We are dedicated to gaining a deep understanding of each child’s sociocultural background to support them through this critical time of rapid growth and development.

Our Rooms

Tiny Tots
(6 Weeks – 3 Years)

Leaving a young child in care can be a big step for families. At Fingerprints Early Learning’s Tiny Tots Room, we understand this transition and are committed to creating a nurturing, secure environment where babies and toddlers feel safe, valued, and loved. Our dedicated educators bring the skills, patience, and empathy needed to provide individualized care, building strong bonds with each child to foster a deep sense of security and belonging.

In the Tiny Tots Room, we maintain two separate cot areas, with all linen disinfected after each use, and provide toddler beds for children aged 18 months to 2 years. Each child has their own set of toddler bed sheets, which are taken home weekly for laundering.

We’re a breastfeeding-friendly space, offering a private area for mothers who wish to nurse on-site. For convenience, we provide all nappies, wipes, and milk (including full cream and alternative options). Families are asked to bring the following items:

  • A bag with two labeled sets of clothes
  • Comfort items like a dummy, sleep suit, or comforter if used at home
  • A dishwasher-safe water bottle, kept at the center and washed daily
  • Formula powder with pre-boiled, labeled bottles, or expressed breast milk

The Tiny Tots Room program is guided by each child’s unique learning goals and interests as well as their developmental stages, hence creating a responsive, engaging environment where every child thrives.

Big Explorers
(3 – 6 Years)

The Big Explorers Room at Fingerprints Early Learning is a vibrant, active space tailored for our busy toddlers and preschool aged children. Here, children can explore developmentally appropriate experiences in a safe, nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and independence.

Our dedicated educators in the Big Explorers Room are energetic, caring, and empathetic, valuing the meaningful relationships they build with each child and family. The educational program is crafted around each child’s needs, interests, and abilities, with collaborative goal-setting by families and educators to help every child thrive. Through play and exploration of their surroundings, children engage with the natural world, enjoying activities like outdoor play, gardening, community walks, excursions and incursions.

The Big Explorers Room focuses on developing social skills, self-help abilities, and independence, setting a strong foundation for social confidence. For added convenience, we provide all nappies, wipes, and a variety of milk options. Families are asked to bring:

  • A bag with two labeled sets of clothes
  • Comfort items like a dummy, sleep suit, or comforter, if needed
  • A dishwasher-safe water bottle, kept at the center and washed daily

Our children sleep on low stretcher beds during rest times, with each family purchasing a hat and bed sheets for their child’s exclusive use. The Big Explorers Room is designed to help our little ones grow, learn, and connect with the world around them, setting the stage for a joyful early learning journey.

School Readiness
Program

Fingerprints Early Learning is proud to supply local schools of Wentworthville with students whom are truly ready for the challenge of “big school” (Primary School).

We are across the street from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School and a short walk to Wentworthville Public School, as well as enjoying a great relationship with both, Hilltop Road Public School and Darcy Road Public School.

Our school readiness program assists each child to develop the foundations for lifelong learning by developing skills and abilities which give children the skills to learn effectively, take on new challenges with confidence and have a sense of belonging to the wider community in to which they are about embark.

Our pre-school program focuses on preparing your child for Reading, Writing and Numeracy throughout their everyday experiences here at Fingerprints Early Learning.

Our team of experienced educators embraces a holistic child approach to teaching literacy. Our program focuses on the key skills of Reading and Writing by Seeing, Hearing, Feeling and Doing, giving children a sense of achievement and success. In this program children cover:

  • Learning letter sounds
  • Learning letter formation
  • Blending
  • Identifying sounds in words and much more.

Mathematics is everywhere and has countless applications within every day life. Children will be learning and engaging in developmentally age-appropriate Mathematical skills including counting, problem solving, sorting, and ordering shapes and objects.

These activities will be incorporated in your child’s everyday learning and become a part of their day, especially as they are embedded thoroughly throughout our Early Learning Curriculum.

We truly believe that preparation for school (also known as “school readiness”) and the inevitable transition to school, well and truly start within your child’s journey at childcare.
